The Bowood House Triathlon will take place on
Saturday 24th June 2023 ONLY!
Located in Calne, Wiltshire and set in the private grounds of Bowood House & Gardens, Bowood House Triathlon welcomes participants of all ages and abilities to swim, bike and run around the beautiful route.
A friendly and welcoming race with first-class event organisation, in a historical and unbeatable venue. Don't miss an opportunity to experience beautiful Bowood like never before. Over the course of the weekend, athletes can take part in our Sprint or Super Sprint event. Or for younger aspiring stars, our Tri Stars youth event is perfect for budding triathletes of the future.
SPRINT & SUPER SPRINT
Bowood House Triathlon offers two race options - Triathlon and Duathlon - over different distances for competing athletes aged 15+. The Sprint and Super Sprint distances are great choices for all abilities and both follow the same stunning course.
The course starts with an idyllic open water swim in the beautiful still waters of Lord Lansdowne's private lake. Located at the lower end of the estate, the swim is perfectly positioned for spectators to cheer you on whilst taking in the scenic view or the historic Doric Temple across the water.
Next, the bike course is a beautiful traffic free route taking you into the wilder part of the estate and looping around the grounds past Bowood Golf Course, Osprey Farm, and including Lord Lansdowne’s' private driveway, which is inhabited with game fowl.
To finish, you will head out on an undulating run route taking in some of Bowood's most iconic sights including the arboretum, Hermit's Cave, The Casade and Doric Temple.

TRI STARS
Triathlon is becoming an increasingly popular sport amongst young people, and at Bowood House Triathlon we celebrate our young athletes with our Tri Stars competition. Tri Stars is open to children from the age of 9-14 and we run 4 separate events to accommodate the different age groups. Tri stars 1 (age 9-10), Tri stars 2 (age 11-12) and Tri Stars 3 (age 13-14).
